Pluto in Aquarius the dictatorship of the algorithm
I have been wondering for some time what impact Pluto's entry into Aquarius will have on society, soon, as soon as March 2023, the reign of the supreme ruler of the underworld and death in Aquarius will begin.
Observing the effect it is causing in Capricorn, which debuted with the 2008 crisis and exiting with a change of the structures that sustain global society is beginning to be somewhat disturbing. Capricorn precisely represents that, a change in what emotionally harmonizes society (Cancer), which is what opposes Capricorn. This is leaving a trail of very powerful deconstruction that will ultimately end even with the machinery that has destroyed it.
We live in the age of post-truth, where everyone can believe what seems right to them and with one click you will see hundreds, thousands or perhaps millions of people who will agree with you whether you believe one thing or its opposite, but few are aligned with verifiable and proven reality unless it is to doubt it, and with leaders adapted to this new reality. I'm sorry to say, but that ends. Aquarius is stubborn and grid-like by nature, no compromising with the reality of things.
Pluto in Aquarius will transit for almost 20 years, do not expect quick or fleeting results. We can instead expect the dictatorship of the algorithm to take over our lives. When Saturn entered Aquarius, I warned well in advance of the danger of information censorship that it would bring. Saturn loves control and Aquarius loves defined realities; it was coming...
Pluto in Aquarius is much more intense and profound in its manifestation. We have been living in a globally connected society for years, and do not worry, even where it does not reach, like certain countries that control the internet, our personal information can still reach in the form of "information sales". So personal information is and will be global. This will mean that within an Aquarian energy we will be a color, a height, a language or several, a way of thinking, a way of acting, etc., etc., etc., and we will be segregated and sectorized for the convenience of some programmer. The dictatorship of the algorithm is served and it is inevitable. The only thing that can be avoided is the criterion for choosing the "programmers", but even that and according to current inertia will be of little help.
China is perhaps the most prepared country in the world to welcome this new era and its customs. I would not be surprised if we copied much from them and their ways of approaching this new period.
Personally, I am in favor of all scientific advancement without barriers of any kind. The problem is never science; it is always the interest in using it as a mechanism of power. Pluto in Aquarius will offer an unbeatable opportunity for it. But, because there is always a but, Aquarius also has a nonconformist side. Aligning a vast army of data or people who in unison decide to desert is a commitment for power, whoever or wherever it is. And that is the other side of this 20-year era we have just before us about to be born on the horizon.
Pluto in Capricorn, this era, leaves millions of people who follow leaders who tell them that truth is relative and that if they believe in them they will not die burned by climate change, "follow the truth that interests you most". In contrast, Pluto in Aquarius will put millions of people acting in unison, to the beat of rigid parameters and realities. We have not reached today's absurdity all at once nor will we act with such rigidity suddenly. But, what will continue to rule is Pluto, the lord of the underworld, the lord of death, the Plutocrat.
